Saven Matches WealthONE at 3.00% as EQ Bank and Hubert Raise Savings Rates

Rates as of November 5, 2026  Compared with our November 2 check

Key takeaways
  • Saven raised its savings rate from 2.85% to 3.00%, which ties WealthONE for the highest regular rate we track on a $10,000 balance. The same 3.00% applies to Saven’s TFSA, FHSA, RRSP and RRIF savings accounts.
  • Hubert Financial went from 2.50% to 2.75%, in its regular and registered savings accounts. It is now fourth, behind Oaken at 2.80%.
  • EQ Bank raised its bonus, notice and registered savings rates, effective November 3: the bonus rate with direct deposit 2.75% → 3.00%, 30 Day Notice 2.75% → 3.00%, 10 Day Notice 2.35% → 2.50%, and TFSA, FHSA and RRSP cash savings 1.50% → 1.75%. The no-condition Personal Account rate stays at 1.50%.
  • Scotiabank raised its High Interest Savings tiers by 25 basis points, effective November 4. The rate depends on your total relationship balance: 1.75% at the $10,000 level, up to 2.45% at $500,000 or more. Balances under $10,000 still earn 0.00%.
  • The best Big Six regular rate is still 0.65%, at RBC and National Bank. No new promotions this week.

What changed

Compared with our November 2 check: Saven raised its HISA and registered savings from 2.85% to 3.00%; Hubert Financial raised its savings accounts from 2.50% to 2.75%; EQ Bank raised its bonus rate and 30 Day Notice from 2.75% to 3.00%, 10 Day Notice from 2.35% to 2.50%, and TFSA, FHSA and RRSP cash savings from 1.50% to 1.75%; and Scotiabank raised its High Interest Savings tiers to 1.75%, 2.00%, 2.25% and 2.45%. WealthONE, Oaken, Haventree Bank, Outlook, Achieva, Manulife, Tangerine, Simplii, RBC, TD, BMO, CIBC and National Bank did not change.

Our take

On $10,000 kept for a year, 3.00% at Saven or WealthONE pays about $300, Oaken’s 2.80% about $280 and Hubert’s 2.75% about $275. EQ Bank’s base rate pays about $150. Its 3.00% bonus also pays about $300, but it needs at least $2,000 a month in qualifying direct deposits, so we list it as a conditional rate and not in the ranking. EQ’s 30 Day Notice account also pays 3.00%, in exchange for giving notice before you withdraw.

WealthONE still pays more at the top tier: 3.25% from $25,000, against a flat 3.00% at Saven. Below $10,000, WealthONE pays 2.85%, so Saven is ahead for smaller balances.

The promotions still lose over a full year. Tangerine’s 5.00% for five months works out to about 2.27% in a registered account, BMO’s 5.00% for four months to about 1.95% and CIBC’s 5.00% for three months to about 1.46%. All three are below the regular rates at Saven, WealthONE, Oaken and Hubert. BMO’s page still advertises its offer but shows no dates, so confirm it is open before you count on it.
